Tell by Norah McClintock

Tell is a gripping story about a young man who is accused of the murder of his step-father. In his quest of trying to prove his innocence, he begins finding out things about his past. The truth about his little brother's death. The truth about his step-father.
These truths play like a poker hand and when the right cards are dealt, only one person will come out the winner.

Twilight by Stephenie Meyer

Have you ever read a book, or rather TRIED to read a book, but you couldn't get though it because everyone else wanted to read it? That is what happened with my students. I began reading Twilight and was on about the fifth chapter. You know the point where you are really getting sucked in to the book and you want to know what is going to happen. Sitting on the edge of your seat, biting your fingernails and then you hear a soft whimpering at the office door. You look up and standing before you is this pitiful creature, eyes sad, lip pouty. And that is when you realize, they are not upset because their boyfriend/girlfriend broke up with them, but because they are wondering when you are going to finish the book so they can get their hands on it!

Not since Harry Potter and the elementary/intermediate age kids have I seen such a fan following as for Stephanie Meyer's Twilight series. Have I gotten to read the first book of the series yet? The answer would be a resounding and very loud NO! The reason? I can't keep the book on the shelf! Even now, during the summer, it is checked out to one of my students whose friends told her it was wonderful and she was dying to read it. So tell me, what do you love so much about this series?
